Tiny little Sweetie was by far the most terrified and damaged at the beginning of the war, especially because neither she nor rarity could make contact with their parents. But even though she found it hard to smile in the first month, Granny was able to comfort her and got her to laugh again. She eventually recognized the need for somepony to keep moral up in town. So Sweetie took it upon herself to help Spike keep the Golden Oaks Library open. She and Spike worked to turn the library's basement into a safe shelter during air strikes. The CMC would hold tutoring sessions for the other kids in town when school was cancelled because of bomb threats. She would also host monthly shows and plays for holidays. Eventually the Library was the only place with cable and she would spend sleepless nights there with her friend Shady Daze watching the news so they could type up and print out newspapers when the Canterlot Telegram stopped making its way out of the city.

No matter how scared or sad she was Sweetie Belle made it a point to stay composed. That's what the best and most beautiful big sister in the whole world would do. She became less excitable and found it easier to take charge in certain situations. And with enough practice and help from AB and Granny she because much better at sewing and hemming which was useful for stitching up wounds and making blankets.

As time when on Sweetie became a slim yet somewhat curvy young mare. She was still shortest of the CMC but she was no less able to hold her own. She was strong from helping on the Acres and learned a few fighting/battle spells. She carries a dagger everywhere she goes and learned how to use Cranky Doodle Donkey's old shotgun after a particularly nasty raid in town.

Her cutie mark wraps all the way up and around her back and in a connective loop or a quill pen writing musical notes. She was the first of the CMC to get hers. At age eleven she decided to write a song for a medieval project and when she performed it she got her mark. She used her ability with writing and songs to make a dynamic and informative paper for the town called the Ponyville Gazette.
