Discord's story doesn't really undergo any huge changes for a while. He starts to calm down over time, the weight and affect of being several thousand years old starts to show on him. He chills out. Over time everypony starts to see he really isn't that random and crazy. He reveals he likes things like: knitting, classical/orchestra music, birdwatching, visiting art museums, card games, hockey, earl grey tea, and he also has a very vast knowledge of Quantum Mechanics, Physics, and Thermodynamics.

The real big change in him happens when Fluttershy dies. In a manner of speaking, he himself appears to be discorded. He is monotone grey and sulks around for weeks on end. His first true friend was gone forever. Twilight and Celestia tried their best to comfort him but he refused bluntly and eventually gets fed up with it. He goes into a screaming rage and bolts from the castle, flying as fast and and far away as possible. He ends up in northern Canadursa and curls up in a mopey ball for a while. But somehow, to his surprise, in the dead of winter two canadursan citizens stubble upon him and invite him to go ice-fishing with them. No real formal introductions. Just first names and two smiley "How-do-you-do?"'s. Discord was shocked but went with them any way. He was invited to stay with them for a few days and over time Discord was exposed to more of Canadursa. He friggin' loved it. Everyone was polite and no one was afraid of him because of how he looked. Over time he decided to reside there for a longer period of time. He built himself a nice little Fluttershy style cottage and was hired at the Canadursan National University. Citizens and exchange students lined up and practically begged to have Professor Discord as their Physics, Thermodynamics, or Knitting teacher.
