First Derpibooru upload for 2020. Happy New Year everyone!

Even in near tragedy we can find the strength to triumph. Welcome to 2020.

Vector is based on this heartbreaking status that EStories (Think Pink), the amazing stallion/artist behind the comic series "Seeds of Darkness", posted a few days ago.

The awesome MLP comment story writer JibberJams, who writes little MLP fanfic snippets on many art pieces around DA, suggested in a comment on my profile that we should do something like a consolation gift for them.

I believe they deserved it as well. And so this vector came about. It's a rather sad start to this new year, but I believe that 2020 will be a great year, both for Think Pink and Neigh Sayer as well as for the rest of us.

JibberJams pieced together a very fitting story for this picture — especially since he has not even seen the picture yet.
This is the account he wrote:

It was a stormy day at the studio. Not an uncommon occurrence, surely; it just meant all ponies working there had to stay indoors.

However, for one pair of ponies, the dreary downpour set a dour mood. It was the aftermath of one of the worst things they ever experienced…

A door slowly opened. "Think Pink…?" a visiting pony said in an extraordinarily soothing voice. It was Neigh Sayer. "Look, I know what almost happened was rough, but… it's over now. C'mon. At least TRY to eat something…" Neigh Sayer put a plate on a small table near the large window, where a distraught Think Pink hung his head, unable to wrap his mind around what transpired.

Think Pink glanced at Neigh Sayer and the sandwich she made for him. However, he turned away again and said, "…Not hungry… I… I just can't…"

The only noise for a while was a soft sigh from Neigh Sayer. She walked up a little. "Pink… Please… I know what almost happened was terrible. But… what good does it do to be stuck on it? It's over, Think Pink."

"H… How can you be so sure???" Think Pink swiftly answered. "I just don't understand… Somepony taking their own life? I mean… Where do you have to be in life to even THINK about doing such a thing…? It… It doesn't make sense!"

"I KNOW it doesn't make sense!" said Neigh Sayer, raising her voice. "All we can do, though, is keep a closer eye on it, and try to be there for the victim! We can remind you-know-who that they have a lot to live for!"

Alas, Think Pink's heart and mind were stuck were he sat, unable to purge the sordid memory from his mind. "…Neigh Sayer… Believe me, I'm TRYING to get over it. I… I wish that I really could just wish away my feelings. But I can't. This should NOT have happened! It's NOT FAIR!!!" He started hanging his head again, holding back a sob.

Suddenly, Neigh Sayer threw herself at Think Pink. "HEY!!! Listen to me! Do you think I'm taking this any b-better than you…?!" Tears began to swell, and she fought to avoid shedding them. "I… I hate this, too. I do. Just thinking about what almost happened… what WOULD'VE happened if we hadn't stepped in… It's really bringing me down, too. I'm… I'm just saying that, if we want to stop this from happening again… we… we need to show that we care."

As Think Pink made eye contact with Neigh Sayer, he began to speak. His first word sounded like a shudder. "B-But… What if…" he said, shaking. "What if it DOES happen…? W-What if we… can't stop it next time…? W-What then???"

Silence filled the room, only broken by the hard pattering of rain against the glass. The two ponies were quiet, with Neigh Sayer calmly walking to Think Pink, well within hugging range.

A soft sob was how Think Pink began talking again. His voice cracking, he said, "I'm… I'm scared, Neigh Sayer!"

Shutting his moist eyes, Think Pink felt Neigh Sayer's embrace. The normally-grouchy mare couldn't hold it in anymore, saying, "I-I know…! sniff ME TOO-OO-OO!"

It was a poignant moment for the couple as they poured each other's hearts out. Think Pink and Neigh Sayer gave each other a much-needed, loving squeeze. They made sure to let it all out. A passing janitor walked by, peering through the barely-opened door. When he saw the two consoling each other… he wished that he could join in, too.

Eventually, the two calmed down. They decided to stretch the moment a few minutes more, to remind each other that the one would always be there for the other, and vice versa. Even with the weight of the shocking event haunting them, Think Pink and Neigh Sayer still held on to their warmest comforts:

Each other.

Continue to keep this astounding couple in your prayers, they really need a pick-me-up following what could have been a terrible, tragic ending not only to 2019, but the whole 2010s decade.
