Coffee Cake was born and raised in Canterlot. When she grew up, she took over her mother's bakery on the same block as a candy shop called Sugar & Spice. Every month, she sends the owners of Sugar & Spice a package of her own cookies and jellies so that samples and word of her bakery can be spread in their shop. In return, she receives candies and sprinkles from the owners to use in decorating her cakes and desserts.
When Coffee Cake met Cirrus in her bakery, she fell in love almost immediately. After she started dating him, she learned of his childhood and how he used to get fancy treats from his parents quite often. His favorite of those fancy treats was the croquembouche. She dedicated her following days off to learning to make them for Cirrus, and soon added the treat to her menu.
Coffee Cake is sweet and kind, and couldn't hurt a fly. She's rarely caught in a bad mood. She can often be seen making croquembouche in her bakery for her boyfriend, Cirrus, as a gift for when he gets off duty as royal guard.
