"I thought it would be interesting if Princess Celestia was an Earth Pony before she ascended into an alicorn. She being one of the only earth pony sorcerers to ever exist. (much less ascending to an alicorn) This being thousands of years ago, this is not known to the general populous of equestira. As an earth pony she coined her race's natural magic in relation to agriculture in order to study deeper. I'm guessing she studied the sun and was able to alter it in some way. I have a thought with this, but I'm unsure where to take it. One of her first name's was Sol.
