Aurora Dawnlight served as Grogar's apprentice during his reign as an emperor. She was inspired by his tale of conquest of the alicorn's heavenly kingdom and his monster creations. She successfully became his apprentice by demonstrating him her magical prowess… as well as her cruelty to other ponies.

She trained under him, eventually created dark magic to become the most powerful unicorn in all the lands. After Grogar was banished, she went into hiding from the other ponies, and founded the 'Cult of Dawnlight', where she would recruit many followers to pass down her knowledge of dark magic. What became of her is unknown, only that she left behind a pendant, reserved only for the cult leader to bear.

No pony knew of her background before she became his apprentice, but one thing is certain is that she fully believed that anyone has the right to rule over others, provided one is willing enough. This ideology led her to become one of the progenitors of dark unicorn magic.
