"What in the hay was that all about?" Twilight asked her daughter, Magic Aura, furiously, once they got inside the castle. Twilight slammed the door behind her. Magic Aura sighed, stopping in her tracks, but keeping her back turned away from her mother as she kept her face near the ground.

"Mom, I," she started, but Twilight stomped her hoof in anger and interrupted her.

"That was so embarrassing, Magical Aura! And in front of Princess Celestia!" Twilight said, hiding her face in her hooves. Magic Aura rolled her eyes.

"Mom, I TOLD you I stayed up all night writing. I didn't even get to have coffee before we left! Me falling asleep was bound to happen! These dumb events are SO boring!" Magic Aura said in defense. She lifted her head up but was still faced away from Twilight. Twilight sighed and shook her head.

"Honey, you really need to stop staying up all night writing. I'm glad that you took a love of books like me, but you know that you're a princess, and you need to attend these important events. Especially because one day, you'll be taking my place on the throne. I'm just trying to," Twilight explained calmly, but was interrupted by her daughter turning around and getting in her face.

"MAYBE I DON'T WANT TO BE A PRINCESS!" Magic Aura yelled at the top of her lungs. Twilight stood in shock for a moment. Just, frozen, like a statue.

"I NEVER ASKED TO BE A PRINCESS! I NEVER ASKED TO BE BORN INTO THIS WORLD! AND NOW YOU'RE FORCING ME TO DO THINGS I DON'T WANT TO DO! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST LET ME BE HAPPY WRITING BOOKS INSTEAD OF TRYING TO MAKE ME BE A STUPID, PRISSY PRINCESS?" Magic Aura yelled at the top of her lungs, shaking the entire castle with her voice. Tears were starting to well up in her eyes. Twilight still stood there, shocked. She took in what Magic Aura said for a second, as Magic Aura stood there, gritting her teeth and trying to hold back her tears. Twilight furled her brow and came back with a rebuttal.

"Magical Aura, you're my first born daughter, and I gave you the honor of taking my place in the Elements of Harmony along with becoming a princess. You're taking it for granted, and your friends as well. Which you should NEVER do." Twilight said sternly. Magic Aura glared at Twilight.

"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE STUPID ELEMENTS OF HARMONY OR BEING ROYALTY! I DON'T CARE ABOUT ANY OF IT! IT'S ALL STUPID! YOU'RE A HORRIBLE MOTHER FOR TRYING TO FORCE THIS ON ME!" Magic Aura screamed at her. Twilight's heart felt hurt, and it felt like it shattered into a million pieces, since she was just trying to be a good mother, but she quickly responded back, raising her voice to be level with Magic Aura's, letting her blind rage take over her.

"Princess Magical Aura, I'm trying to do what's best for you, and I'll be damned if I sit here and let you insult me!" Twilight yelled at her. Magic Aura's tears were flowing heavily from her eyes. They both started yelling over each other violently. It would be a surprise if the other residents of the castle didn't hear them at this point.

Finally, Magic Aura fell silent. She wearily shook in place, letting tears spill out of her eyes and onto the floor. She glanced up at Twilight once again.

"You don't understand me. At all. You never did…" Magic Aura said through sobs and gritted teeth. Twilight fell silent. She didn't know how to respond. How to react. She just stood there, watching her eldest daughter cry in front of her, unsure of what to do or say. Twilight reached her hoof out, but Magic Aura stepped back and gave her a raged-filled glance.

"Y-You… You never cared about me or my feelings! You're a horrible mom! You're a horrible pony! You… you… I…" Magic Aura stammered. She was having trouble finding the right words to say. But everything was piercing Twilight's heart like a blade. Twilight wasn't angry anymore — she was heartbroken, hearing her daughter say these things to her. Was she really a terrible mother?

"I'm… I'M DISOWNING YOU AS MY MOM, FOR… FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!" Magic Aura used the rest of her breath to scream this at the top of her lungs. Magic Aura quickly ran off to her room, tears spilling like waterfalls out of her eyes and she sobbed on the way. She slammed her door as loud as she possibly could, and locked it so no pony could disturb her. Twilight stood in the doorway of the castle, just frozen, unable to move. She gulped as she took in the words Magic Aura said. They hurt, a lot. Twilight bit her lip and pinned her ears against her head and held back the sudden wave of tears that were wanting to come out. Twilight placed her hoof over her chest, to make sure her heart was still together. It felt like it wasn't. Like Magical Aura just stomped on it and broke it into a bunch of pieces that couldn't be put back together. The words she never wanted to hear from any of her kids, all came out of Magic Aura's mouth. She wasn't surprised, to say the least, since she knew about Magic Aura's vulgar language, but she never thought it would get this far. Twilight sighed in defeat and let tears spill from her eyes. She messed up. She messed up REAL bad. She let the tears spill onto the floor, thinking of ways to get Magic Aura's trust again. To figure out if something was killing her. But she came about it in the wrong way. She let blind rage take her over, rather than being sensible and calm about it. And now… now she was regretting everything she said. Twilight stood up and quickly made her way up to her room again. To talk to Flash. To vent to him. Maybe to cry in his arms. No, to definitely cry in his arms. Maybe he could help her come up with a solution to this huge problem that she created… she was just trying to be a good mother, after all. She wanted the best for her children, but maybe she wasn't doing the right thing after all. It swirled around in her head as she made her way up to her bedroom. Sometimes, she wished Spike were still around so he could help her solve these issues. But, he wasn't, and she needed to figure this out on her own — or, at least, with the aid of her husband by her side.

Now she was determined. She was determined to not only apologize to her daughter, but to also figure out what's killing her on the inside… if there even was anything. She needed the answer, the key to why Magic Aura acted the way she did. The first step was to get her emotions out to her husband.
