a bit of a ramble before i get into things:
im kinda in a bad mental state atm, particularly made worse by this quarantine. its been pretty bad for months, going back to about november when things started to deteriorate, and subsequently ive just lacked any kind of motivation for nextgen stuff. sometimes i can power through it and get things done, sometimes i cant.
i guess the aim of these doodles was to put like, anything out there? some of these are lazy (the first two are literally just slightly cleaned up sketches) just to do something.

anyway, asked for suggestions to break through this, and a few people asked for stuff about pyxis so yeet

1.) just for fun lil doodle. i really love pyxis' and crystal's friendship. she often gets roped into going gem hunting with him — by which i mean, she carries the bags while he runs about getting excited over some rocks. Pyxis likes to pretend she doesnt like him, or care or anything or whatever, but she'd really do anything to help her bestie, and she hates it.

2.) she loves her mama twi, but she's def the kinda girl to get a piercing just to piss off her parents. definitely isn't old enough to get one but comes home with a tongue piercing anyway, and gives her mothers a quick blep before making her way up to her room. twilight's boutta throw a fit.

3.) scitwi does not believe a word of what princess twilight has said to her — and of course, when she talks to starlight about it, she's quick to deny everything.

While SciTwi might be convinced, Pyxis definitely isn't. Things aren't adding up, and she can't understand why the princess would actively make up lies about her own mother — after all, didnt they used to be friends? why would she do this all now? it couldn't be just a jealousy thing, could it?
After this incident, Pyxis is banned from visiting Ponyville, with Starlight and SciTwi in agreement that they don't want their daughter fraternising with someone out to tear apart their family.
But obv Pyxis does what she wants.
How Pyxis comes to this conclusion and develops this distrust of Starlight i definitely want to get into a bit more…

4.) jillkoy asked what if sterling survived and did me a real big think.
Sterling would still get sick, and Starlight would still be incredibly cold and uncaring — but the longer Sterling lasted, and the more she seemed to recover, the more ponies became interested. She was a medical phenomenon, being the first alicorn born to non alicorn parents to suvive past infancy. There was a lot of (unwanted) press around their daughter, and their family in general. Scitwi trying to stay under the radar of the public (since u kno, she's a clone of the princess) went out the window, and word eventually made it to princess twilight herself.

Scitwi in this state is a lot easier to convince that Starlight is not who she appears to be — after months of the cold shoulder, and almost letting their newborn die, Twilight realises how she's been manipulated and used. They'd had much fewer years together, so there was less trust built up between them — and so, with support from princess twilight, gets her and her two daughters right out of that situation.

She tries to live as a single mother in Equestria, caring for her two daughters mostly by herself — but even with some support from the princess, she was lonely, and struggled to properly look after her kids. On top of that, her and her daughter are constantly attracting unwanted press. It was for these reasons, she made the decision to return to… i mean not canterlot high, because she's not a teenager, but… through the mirror i guess? Since no one there would know (or even understand what it means) that sterling was an alicorn, and she had the support of her friends from canterlot high. It seems to make the most sense.

If Sterling had survived, she'd be just the tiniest bit spoiled. She's a sweet face, but boi is she high maintenance, and wants pretty much anything pink and sparkly she lies her eyes upon — and if she doesn't get it, she'll throw a tantrum.

Pyxis is mostly the same, moody as ever, but she'd get along pretty well with her sister. Though she's kinda a brat, the bond they have is pretty special and close- and while she wants as many toys as she can get her hands on, it doesnt mean anything to her unless she can share them with her older sis. Not that pyxis is that interested in dolls and dresses though. She'll play along to keep her happy.
