1-3. Tourmaline Quartz (most often called Tom or Tommy for short), you'll learn from the moment he opens his mouth, is a smart, sassy, and absolutely fabulous stallion. His light coat and sapphire-blue eyes pretty easily give away his parentage. He is dearly adored (and utterly spoiled) by his fashionista mother Rarity, and journalist father Happy Pants. However, Tommy is far from a snob. Yes, he does enjoy his luxuries and vacations easily available through his parents' massive careers, but Tom has a lot of love in his big heart. Of course generosity is a value that is quite important to him (with his mother being the Element of such), and he's worked in his mother's shops in various roles since he was young. The unicorn is also a creative soul with two very distinct loves — the first of which being jewelry-making. While he didn't exactly pick up mother's talent for finding them gems themselves, he can turn any rough, dull-looking crystal into something beautiful. His passion certainly shows in his work, admired by quite a few well-known and high-position creatures.
4-5. Tom's other adoration is music. Awakened like a wildfire in his heart after his Aunt Dash took him to his very first concert with best friend Jetstream, Tourmaline Quartz fell in love with the very power of such. The impact it had on him, feeling the notes in his chest, exploding from the drum set between the two singing ponies, a griffon at the helm and striking the drums with the wooden sticks in almost a frenzied dance. He fell in love hard and fast, and his attention quickly turned from wrapping wires to learning how to read music notes and how to replicate those into actual reality. A big, gorgeous, practically sparkling drum set appeared his next birthday, his parents excited to see where their son took his newfound hobby. A hobby, however, it didn't turn out to be. Tom and Jet form the two-pony band RazorWingz, with Jet on his guitar. They spend hours practicing, writing, brainstorming, and daydreaming. Tom still does love making jewelry, especially the pieces he sells in his mother's Ponyville store, but he leans more towards his love for the drums, especially in his late teen years. It can throw some conflicting emotions into the mix…
6. When he's not making jewelry, playing the drums, or trying to figure out exactly what his "special talent" is, Tom likes to hang out with his friends, his easygoing nature and sharp wit making him a delight to be friends with. He is quite fond of comic books, fan conventions, and pizza. Another hobby of his is male modeling (often taken along to gigs with fellow-model and half-sister Splendor). This fella is handsome and he knows it (after all, look at his family!). However, he doesn't let his confidence over his looks go to his head. Instead, he tries to help others around him who lack that self-love lean how to do so.
7. One of Tom's longest, closest relationships has been with his best friend's little brother, Prism Storm. Of course, since they all practically grew up together, they share a strong bond. But Tom and Prism's began to develop into something a little different as they became older. Admiring looks became longing ones, hugs of celebration after a Junior Speedsters show became tighter and more prolonged. They begin a secret relationship in their teen years — Tom's very much out and about, but Prism isn't. After Jetstream accidentally stumbles upon them in embrace, but gives them his blessing, Tom is the very pony that helps his coltfriend come out to his parents (Soarin immediately proceeded with dad jokes). As they enter their twenties, their relationship does have rocky moments but maintains its strength and the two are quite obviously in love. Their friends adore them and support them quite a bit, though a few do feel a little jealous over their lack of such a nice, loving companionship…
