(Princess Celestia): I cannot disclose why just yet, but I sensed that Twilight might be able to hatch that egg and I believed, in my arrogance, that I know better how to take care of a hatchling than the dragons who simply gave up on him. I don’t regret that Spike was born, of course, but I do blame myself for not learning more about hatchlings and how they imprint on their parents.

Please don’t let Twilight know that Spike was abandoned. I fear she’s simply too young and because of him… she may be unwilling to understand complexity of the dragon society and make hasty judgments. And speaking of which, I know you love your sister very much, Shining Armor, but please don’t let it be a pretext to hold onto fear and prejudice.

For the next week or so I will be posting only cute and cheerful strips to offset all this recent drama ;-)
