Ever since he entered their world, Tommy has done his best to live his life as healthy as he could. Little did he nor his adoptive family ever realize that the one thing all creatures possessed and could use with such ease and wonder was harmful to him…..magic.
It started off small, times of dizziness and soreness that would sporadically occur at random to the young boy, either being shrugged off as being either tired or other elements. Several weeks later and the child of Queen Galaxia and King Speedy Hooves had suffered a sudden collapse out of nowhere. Panic and other questions were asked and the concerns only rose as his condition seemed to multiply and grow along with time. Doctors at first were unsure of how to diagnose the boy let alone have any knowledge of his anatomy and bio. Though luckily Galaxia's Twilight Sparkle side recalled her experiences beyond the magical mirror and had time to study much about humanity. Most importantly their anatomy and biology, both for her own knowledge and now as part of Galaxia for her adoptive son's sake.
Eventually with this information the doctors of Canterlot had discovered the real reason for the boys apparent ailment and health problems. Breaking the news of course to their royal majesties was heartbreaking. To think that "magic" was the sole reason for the pain, suffering, and damage their little human colt was suffering from. A buildup of magic within Tommy's system over time had become unable to leave his system, since he had no natural way of expelling it. As a result the constantly gathering magic would indirectly attack his body in an attempt to leave. Such knowledge ate at the royal's minds for hours and times on end, many reflections and internal discussions wracking their minds as to how much of such suffering they indirectly contributed to their little boy. Time passed by and it was then that one
Princess Healing Glory suggested an experimental blood transfusion be conducted. The theory that being if Galaxia and Speedy were to infuse their own alicorn blood with that of Tommy's that the result would give him the ability to absorb and expel magic naturally like all other creatures, effectively healing him of his ailment. More time passed and the test was conducted, hooves holding hands and tears of fear within everypony's eyes at the fate of this small child. What relief that they had when the effects and levels of magic dropped to healthy levels followed by healing. Much happiness and joy was celebrated through man hugs and tears of joy. Though not making him immune to magic, the transfusion now gave him a means to expel such magic from ever reaching high levels. That being the ability for him to now have such alicorn (and all its benefits) form that most recognize and adore, while not knowing the real reason for the prince's purpose to having such a form. For Tommy this presented a new sudden responsibility to himself to keep, to ensure that he not suffer from such affects magic had on him.
THIS PICTURE: What you see now shows our prince sadly forgetting (since he is a child) to use his pony form for quite a while and as a result another buildup had occurred within him and he once again began to fall ill. Luckily his personal nurse and Aunt Healing Glory had taken notice of the boys condition and had him transferred herself to Canterlot medical. Personally ensuring his care and monitoring his recovery whilst administering anti-magic fluids which could drain his body of the excess magic. Even at times like this it hurts the loving medical alicorn princess to see her own family in this state, causing herself and her component mares to ponder the worst possible scenarios had they not gotten him here in time or taken notice. It was only ever more heartbreaking when the child rested his hand upon her muzzle as if to try to calm her down, only bringing her to further tears. Only said tears were of care and love and not of sadness, to see such compassion and love from somepony whom wasn't even in the best care to tend to others. Yet here was her little nephew, trying to reassure her and calm her during this emotional moment. The hospital that night was quiet and calm after that…
