"Beatz?!"

"Beatz, where are you?!"

"You're going to be late for lunch!"

The calls of Blueberry went ignored by Beatz who was sneaking behind the bushes. Her teeth held onto a struggling winged rabbit as she moved quietly but swiftly. The rabbit started squeaking which caused Beatz to panic and drop it onto the ground before pressing her little hoof against it's mouth, hard before lowering herself flat onto the ground so she wouldn't be spotted. She heard Blueberry's calls drift away and let out a sigh of relief before biting down onto the rabbit's neck, rendering it silent.

The sight of the Lavender Hut caught her attention and she booked it, running to the entrance. She peeked around her, making sure no howler was around before slowly walking in. A big white and purple howler with light pink hooves was laying down onto a big, fluffy pelt. Big leaves and bushes surrounded the howler as the scent of the Lavender made Beatz feel warm and relaxed. Letting out happy giggles, she ran to the howler before bumping her head against her shoulder.

"Ngh…" The howler let out a groan before raising her head up, knowing it was time for lunch. She peeled her eyes open and was surprised to see a cub with a terrified winged rabbit in between her teeth. She blinked a bit at the thrilled cub but then it spoke, "Mama!" The howler smiled her motherly smile at the cub. Her eyes were tearing up once she recognized her baby, "Awh, my baby." She moved a little bit to Beatz and nuzzled her cheek against Beatz's.

For the first time in months, she finally got to see Beatz, her own baby. Beatz set down the winged rabbit and pressed her hoof against it's tail so it won't run away. "I caught this one for you! It's very good and delicious, mama!" Beatz said, excitedly to her mother. Her mother looked down at the rabbit and frowned a bit. This rabbit wouldn't satisfy her hunger at all, she would need a lot more of those to feel full.

She knew that Beatz was still beginning to learn how to take down the preys and hunt so she smiled at Beatz, "Thank you, dear. I'm sure it tastes very good." Beatz giggled and sat down beside her mother, snuggling against her, loving her mother touch. Beatz was just enjoying her company.

Her mother, Celine, was suddenly hit with a wave of worry once she realized that this was not a dream. Beatz had actually broken the rule of coming to her mother when she wasn't fully treated. "Beatz, who took you here?" She asked, facing her cub who was toying with the winged rabbit. "I came here by myself!" Beatz chirped when she looked up at her mother. Oh dear…

"You sneaked away from your caretaker?" Celine was getting more worried by the second and she got anxious once Beatz nodded happily at the question. "Beatz, you shouldn't be here. You know the rules." Beatz's ears dropped at this and stood up, "But mama, those rules are unfair! Why can't we cubs see our own mothers?" Beatz pouted, "The playground is almost empty because the cubs had already went with their mothers but me…"

Celine sighed once she saw Beatz's eyes tear up. She knew it was unfair but the alpha is the one who puts the rules. He was the one who thought it would be a great way for cubs to grow up without their birth-giver's affection as they would grow up to be merciless. Celine pulled Beatz close, "I know, dear. But rules are rules and being here can get you in a big trouble. It's just a couple more weeks and we can be together." Celine spoke softly. "Okay, mama. Once you're out of here, I'll be the one to take care of you!" Beatz exclaimed, her eyes wide with excitement, "I'll bring you food, I'll brush your fur, everything!"

Celine laughed at how cute Beatz was and nodded, "Alright, baby, we'll have it your way." A sharp gasp caught their attention and turned their heads to the source. Blueberry was standing by the entrance, completely frozen in shock. Beatz's eyes widened as well as Celine's.

"I am so sorry, Miss Celine! She had ran off while I was setting up her lunch." Blueberry apologized frantically as she ran in to take Beatz away. Beatz immediately hid in her mother's arms, starting to cry, "No! I don't want to leave mama! Go away!" She cried out. The winged rabbit immediately took cover in a nearby bush.

"Beatz, you can't stay with your mother! It's too dangerous!" Blueberry snapped, trying to reach for her. "NO! I WANT TO STAY WITH MAMA!" A loud scream escaped the cub which had caught so many unwanted attention from outside the hut, especially the other caretakers and the guards. Celine was suddenly hit with a wave of dizziness as her body was starting to ache. "Oh no…" Blueberry stepped back, shocked and worried before running out, "GET THE NURSE! MISS CELINE IS IN PAIN!" Blueberry called out as Beatz looked up at her mother, "Mama, are you okay?" She spoke, concerned but then Celine's head dropped onto's body which shocked Beatz. "Mama!" She called out, tears bubbling up in her eyes as she pushed herself out. "Mama, wake up!"

Nurses ran in and Beatz felt immediate aura wrapping around her lower body and tail. She pushed herself towards her mom, "No! Mama, wake up! Mama!" Tears were now rushing down her face as she clung onto her mother's arm. Not even a second had passed, she was finally pulled away as she struggled, "NO! MAMA! LET ME GO!" She cried out before she was set onto the grassy ground, outside of the hut before the nurses used their magic to keep her out as they tended to her mom.

She was engulfed into a hug by Blueberry as she sobbed. "It's okay, Beatz. She'll be fine." Beatz heard her caretaker speak softly and felt angry. She pushed herself away from Blueberry, "I just wanted to see mama! Why can't I just see her?! All the other cubs had seen their mamas and the playground is empty!" She yelled at Blueberry. "It's the rules, Beatz… I thought I taught you that…" Blueberry frowned and tried to get close to Beatz again, but Beatz moved back. "Well, the rules are stupid and unfair!"

Beatz then started running away into the woods. "Beatz!" Blueberry yelled out but then sighed, slumping onto the ground. A sound of wings flapping caught her attention as Robin landed in front of her, "I came as soon as I heard about what happened. Where's Beatz?" Robin spoke, really concerned at how his cub had ran off — who knows what's out there. "She just ran in there." Blueberry stood up, "Please, speak with her well. The alpha won't be happy to hear about this."

Robin growled a bit at the statement and flapping his wings to fly after Beatz.

Later at night, Celine was sleeping soundlessly before her eyes snapped open once she had heard the bush in front of her rustle. Her other eyes appeared as she stared quietly and stayed very still. Not later, the winged rabbit from before jumped out, expecting to see her asleep but froze it saw her touring above him. Before it could run off, she slammed her hoof against it's back, holding it to the ground. Her mouth opened widely before biting down on it, hitting it's pressure point and killing it without making it feel pain at all.

After all, it was a gift. It shouldn't go to waste.
