"laughs at Twilight's status as the Princess of Friendship Oh! That's Nice."
The Storm King can be pleasant and polite — in a patronizing way — but that doesn't change the fact that he is totally evil. He doesn't care about any creature, well except himself obviously. As long as he has total and complete control over the world, that's all that really matters.
I realized that the Storm King is perhaps the very opposite of the ponies, design wise I mean. While the ponies are little, adorable, colorful, anime-eyed quadrapeds, he's a big, scary, not-so-colorful (gray-skinned, white-furred with black armor), beady-eyed biped. Mind blown! Mind blown Michael Rosen Mind Blown No wonder the animators went with this design. Also while the ponies seem to live in a sort of agraian lifestyle, he and his creatures are more industrial. And I might as well point out that compared to relatively simplily-designed ponies (which are easy to make), the Storm King is very complex (and thus challenging to trace). Making his vector isn't easy, especially since his ToonBoom design has very thin outlines and the 3-D angles force me to improvise on my other vectors of him when I use them as references. If only he actually appeared in the show, instead of the movie, then as a tapestry canon, and finally as a shadow sihouette. At least then I would get a more accurate depiction of him in the show. Either way, I've been planning on making this for some time. I'll plan on working on some more vectors of our favorite Thunderjerk.
