Evening Emeralds is a true sweetheart, though he may seem gruff and rugged he has a heart more golden than any of the precious gems he may excavate in his line of work, he shows this side of him to only the ponies he cares most deeply for, such as his beloved wife Glossy Granite and those who take the time to get to know him and be a part of his very busy world. As a result strangers might get the impression that he is antisocial, maybe even a bit short as i once did when i first met him, but when Glossy trots up to him its like the iron shell encasing his heart melts away to a liquid gold centre and those tired eyes of his film over and sparkle beautifully as if new again
