Ember got caught sneaking her dad's gems a couple of times. Torch warned her that she'd be punished if she did it again.

Being a dragon, Torch is intimately familiar with the contents of his hoard and will notice any missing piece. So when another gem went missing days later, he scolded his daughter and revoked her snacking privileges. But Ember was innocent this time.

Intent on punishing her father for his transgression, Ember gave him the silent treatment. To make her displeasure extra clear, she followed him around, positioned herself in front of him and glared at him. This continued for two days and Torch was just about to deal with her attitude when he noticed a glimmer coming from a crack in the ground. Upon inspecting the crack, he found his missing gem inside.

Knowing he had a mistake to rectify, Torch let Ember have the gem. He sealed the crack and let his daughter stay up all night. She managed to stay awake until fifteen minutes after her usual bedtime, before she fell into a sound sleep.
