1) The pink alicorn sat alone in the dark room, a plate of food by her side, untouched like most of the plates delivered to her. She had refused to eat after being captured by the Nightmare Moon and her army, she knew it wasn't the healthiest to do in her state but…she didn't care, her husband died, and she felt like it was her fault. Her "guardian" entered the room.

She broke down, she didn't wanted to do it in front of him, but she couldn't handle it anymore, he kept his mouth shut, observing her, she looked sick, terrible…and then he noticed the bump in her stomach "You…are pregnant" She covered herself again "I-" He took pity of her"Look, that foal may be the last thing you have of your husband, you need to eat to keep it healthy" "but" "L̶e̸t̷ ̷m̵e̵ ̸f̸i̴n̸i̴s̵h̸…i know about a member of your family, Twilight Sparkle…i can bring her here" "Really?" she looked at him with tears flowing down her face, and a twinkle of hope in her eyes "Eat first, then i will tell you what i now" and he left.

When he came back he was greeted with an empty plate.

2) Stygian walked down the hallway along with Twilight, it was the first time she had been allowed to go out of Canterlot, and the first time she would see Cadance after…everything. "We are here, she is in this room" Stygian said "I will have to stay, but you can speak freely"

Twilight entered, and there she was, looking outside the moon stained window "Cadance…" the pink alicorn turned around "Twilight…Twilight" she ran into her arms "I'm so sorry Twi, i-i should have done more, anything…i'm so sorry" Twilight embraced her with her wings "shh, it wasn't your fault Cadance…you know it wasn't" "He tried to protect me…and i failed him" "You couldn't do anything…we can't bring him back…" "I-i'm pregnant Twi" Twilight saw her straight in the eye "R-really?" a little smile spread in her face,but vanished soon after "a little bit of him still lives…what if Nightmare wants it? You would give birth to a foal with huge magic abilities Cadance, w-what if she wants it?" "N-no i won't let her" "…we still have time, to make a plan…" Stygian was in a corner of the room, listening, the gears in his mind working, he shouldn't…but he wanted to help, maybe the shadows have consumed most of him, but he still had empathy.

After Twilight had to leave, Stygian stayed with Cadance "Thank you for bringing Twilight" "Glad that you feel better, at least you won't cause any more trouble…i heard what you and Twilight said" Cadance perked up "…You won't tell anything to Nightmare, right?" "No…i have an idea, so that the child won't be taken by her, it will grant you to stay with him, and also elevate your relationship with her, so she won't do anything to you…i know you are grieving the loss of your husband…" "what is it?" "Marry me" Cadance's eyes were huge "w-what?!" "I won't try to do any advances towards you, or will try to fill the place of him in your heart…but she considers me her son, she won't do anything to you, if we tell her the child is mine" "Why are you doing this?" Stygian sighed "I had a son..or a daughter maybe, once, i don't remember, 1000 years makes you forget things, but i remember the love i felt for them, i wouldn't like anyone taking them away" Cadance looked at him "You are a good pony, even behind all the shadows i can see it" "I really wouldn't say that…do you accept?" Memories flowed through Cadance, she remembered Shining proposing to her in the gardens of Canterlot castle, a nice summer afternoon, she felt the luckiest mare alive…tears flooded down her face

Ah sorry if that was super long :,D hope that all of you liked it! The reason i gave Stygian a child, it's because of a certain character from the comics called "Shadow Lock" who is a descendant from him, and may add him to the story, who knows!

Btw remember that Shining it's alive, just that neither Cadance or Twi know about this
