Another new friend for Starlight Glimmer to make was Pinkie Pie's geologist sister, Maud Pie! :iconstarlightcuteplz: Emoticon — Maud Bedroom Eyes

The friendship made between these two was sort of an embarrassing one. They actually met back when Starlight first found her equal village. While traveling Equestria for her rocktorate dissertation, Maud was approached by the dictator Unicorn and asked if she knew "some kind of super-powerful stone that can store the cutie mark magic of… I don't know… an entire village?" Maud directed Starlight in the direction of the cave where she would contain the cutie marks of her followers.

Moons later, Starlight changed her ways after being shown the magic of friendship by Twilight Sparkle, and recently graduated from her teachings about friendship. It was on this particular day when Starlight literally bumped into the Earth Pony as she walked out of the Castle of Friendship. Maud Pie had earned her "rocktorate" in rock science at the Equestrian Institute of Rockology, and she was given a tour of Ponyville by her sister, Pinkie, in the hope that she will move in with her. Unimpressed with Ponyville's selection of rocks and minerals, Maud agreed to stay if she could make a friend who understood her passion for rocks. She and Starlight became fast friends as they unearthed a beautiful grotto near Ponyville and finding a little common ground about liking kites. However, Pinkie failed to notice their friendship and constantly tried forcing them to get along. Maud became annoyed with Pinkie's interference and inconsideration, and decided to move to Ghastly Gorge instead. Starlight told Pinkie that she liked Maud, but Pinkie's efforts to push them together did more harm than good, causing her to realize her folly, apologized to Maud for her behavior and selfishness, and promised to never interfere again (and also escaping a hungry quarry eel). This convinced Maud to give Ponyville a second chance, where she reunited with Starlight and set up her new home in the underground grotto.

After Maud became friends with Sunburst when he visited Ponyville through shared love for geology (not what Starlight initally intended), and after she met Mudbriar and became a couple, she and Starlight remained very good friends. One day, Maud and Mudbriar were preparing their "Spring Solst-astic" party in Maud's grotto, and invited Trixie, Sunburst, and Starlight to the event. However, when Silverstream went missing after Starlight dismissed her during a counsel seminar, the friends and Silverstream's brother, Terramar, went in search for the lost Hippogriff. Along the way, they were attacked by a flock of cockatrices, and Mudbriar was turned to stone (much to Maud's delight). Once Silverstream was found, the friends returned back to the grotto to celebrate (and Mudbriar was restored). Starlight still felt guilty for everything that happened and failing in her duties as counselor, but her friends, including Maud, told her that she cannot completely devote herself to her students or else she risks neglecting her friends (and vice-versa). Starlight decided to set a schedule for students to see her at specific times during the day. Maud may be a mare with no expressive emotions, but she is a true friend, even to Starlight.

Nice that we got a short discussion there. The real challenge to this pic was the background representing Maud, but I'll discuss that when I get to submitting her bio.
