Greywind is famously known to be very chill. She's super calm all the time, which sometimes has the effect of unsettling people. There's no one she can't handle…

except her cousin Vaporwave. Vaporwave sucks

Grey's biggest pet peeve is gossip. She just doesn't see the point. Vapor always comes to her with family gossip, too- some news article on her own mother. Vapor has no restraint tbh

As cousins usually are, Vaporwave is extremely competitive with Dash's kids. She attempts to join the Wonderbolts and applies for the B Team, but after an extremely reckless stunt she's banned from returning to any Wonderbolts locations. She gives all the tea to everyone- your secret definitely isn't safe with her. She does have a group of buddies back home though, a group of high school girls who like to pick on ponies with bland colors and no cutie marks. She's in a group of five- three unicorns, her (pegasus), and an earth pony.

For one summer, she lived with the Dash family. She's technically their second cousin. Rainbow Dash's uncle (her father's brother) had a kid who had a kid, that's Vaporwave. She's not really a huge part of their lives, but Bow Hothoof really wanted his great niece to get along with his grandkids. A super big happy family!

Even Thunderbird finds her annoying, despite them sharing a similar personality. Astra stays as far away from Vaporwave as she can. Vapor and Toni actually get along very well. Vaporwave is younger than all the Dash siblings, younger than Astra by about 8 months. That's not too much of an age difference, especially because Vapor is so tall. Greywind tried to be an aunt figure for her, but Vapor really insisted on being the pesky cousin


Rainbow Dash is pretty aware that Vaporwave's a little… off. Secretly she reassures Greywind that she's not really a Dash.

"Watchu mean?" Greywind asked through her hoof, covering her mouth while she chewed on her sandwich.

"Well, look at her, Windy." Dash gestured. "Look at 'er mane."

"Yeah… What about it?" Greywind swallowed.

"There're too many colors. She doesn't have a rainbow mane like you 'n me, kiddo."

"But it's still rainbow. Anyone would say that. The amount of colors doesn't matter… does it?"

"Look a lil closer." Dash nodded in Vaporwave's direction, who was distracted with Toni. " There's no green. No purple. I'd say the yellow's even iffy."

Greywind scoffed. "Alright, you're just nitpicking. Besides, Thunder and Astra don't have rainbow manes either. They're still your kids. Vaporwave looks more like you than I do." She looked down.

Dash let out a laugh, maybe a little too loud. "You joking, Windy? Anyone would recognize you as my daughter. I'm just saying. If it makes you feel better, she doesn't have our mane. She might've inherited a little, but not like you did."

"Eh, I guess." Greywind shrugged, taking another bite of her sandwich.

"You've got your father to blame for your siblings. Thunder totally would've rocked a rainbow mane if it weren't for Dumbbell's dull genes." She snorted jokingly.

Greywind smiled up at her mom. "And Astra? She's"

"Don't go making fun of Astra."

"I wasn't going to. I was just saying"

"Look, honey. I know Vaporwave's a little odd, but think of it this way. All of my kids have made a legacy for themselves. They have their own stories to tell. Vapor clings onto me, her famous aunt Rainbow Dash who's saved Equestria countless times" Dash noticed her daughter blandly staring. She cleared her throat. "Ehrm yeah. That's great and all, but she's not her own person. All my babies are unique."

Greywind smiled again. "And Toni?" She joked.

"Toni's a replica of her dad."

Greywind shrugged again, blandly.

"Don't compare yourself to her, Windy. She's nothing like you. Just a few more weeks and she'll be gone, okay? I know you'll make it." She gently gave her daughter's back a pat. "We're all struggling to live with her." She smirked.

Greywind lowkey knows that Toni's not her mom's daughter, and that they're probably half siblings. She still loves Toni regardless- they're siblings no matter what.

Dash isn't close to her uncle, and Bow Hothoof isn't really close to her brother either. That entire side of the family is kinda alienated

Something special about the Dash kids, they're all unique, and all have some form of monochromia

- Greywind inherits her mom's mane. She has monochromia on her body, which means her coat is grey
- Thunderbird has monochromia on his entire body, mane and all.
- Astra actually has monochromia too. Monochromia is commonly observed as grey toned, but the definition of monochrome also includes ranging shades of one single color. Astra's monochromia comes in the form of blue-ish purples.
