It was evening in Canterlot, and the Castle Gardens were alive with music and celebration. It was Prince Enigma's birthday, and was also the night that he was officially shown to the public. All of this added a lot of stress on the young hybrid's shoulders, since none were sure how well the public would take him.

Many of Canterlot's elite were there, as well as the 4 Princesses and their families. Along with Twilight, the rest of the Elements and their families attended the party.

Enigma stayed off to the side when he wasn't needed by his mother, ears lowered and wings folded. His eyes would scan the party-goers, noticing their whispering and their glances towards him. He'd see mothers scold their children for staring at him, adults whispering with narrowed eyes towards his mother and father, and it all made him blush in embarrassment and worry. He wished he could just disappear, but he knew that his mother wouldn't be happy if he did…

Enigma sighed, getting ready to stand when he felt something bounce into him, making him falter and sit back down.

"OOF!"

Enigma looked, seeing a peach-colored filly with dark red hair and wearing a blue dress standing next to him. She got her bearings, her spinning eyes slowly moving back into place as she shook her head. Her bright blue eyes reopened, looking up into his magenta ones curiously. They shared a few moments of silence as she looked him over.

"You look funny"

Enigma felt a blush rise, his ears lowering as he looked away. "I-I.."

"You must have a good heart!" she finished, a big smile on her lips. At this, Enigma's eyes widened in surprise as he looked back at her. "Wh-What?"

The filly sat down with a 'POMF', looking at him still.
"My mommy says that when a pony is funny, it means that their heart is true and good. You look funny, so that must mean you're good!" she answered with a smile.

Enigma looked at her, his expression going from surprised to confused, to finally a smile. "Thank you.."

"Mm-hm! My name's Peach Pie, but everyone calls me Peachy! What's your name?"

"Pri- ……..Enigma."
