My entry for CrazyArtist's "Special SomePony Contest!" I haven't drawn my son in ages, and I saw this perfect opportunity to!
I don't care if I win or not, honestly, I just wanted the chance to collab with this user again. Her OCs are always adorable to work with!
Also, I made it easier and put your watermark on Phoenix's leg, since it looked distracting in the corner and I had to move it anyway to work with my program correctly. Hope that's alright!

How they meet:
Cedar is walking around Ponyville, looking through the marketplace, when he spots an upset pony in the crowd.
He doesn't know what happened, but they look like they recently got into an argument with somepony else.
Worried, he walks up to them. "H-Hey, are you alright?" He spoke.
"Oh, um… Y-yeah, I'm okay." They said in return, in between sniffles.
"You certainly don't seem like it, bud. what happened?"
They let out a sigh, before speaking again. "It was just somepony in the market, don't worry about it."
Cedar looks around the crowd of colorful ponies, trying to spot the pony they were talking about. Seems they got away.
"Well, whoever that pony was, I'm sure I'll let them get a piece of my mind, okay? What's your name?"
"Um, Phoenix."
"Cedar. It's nice to meet you." He extends his hoof out to give Phoenix a hug, and they accept almost instantly.
Unknowingly, Cedar had started tearing up. Seeing his strewn and upset face hurt him a bit.
He made sure that no one would hurt his friend as long as he's around.
