Lucy: At least I actually won my victory. And I didn't need to disguise myself as some Mary-Sue princess.
Chrysalis: All you did was beat your opponent in some lousy competition with a dinky, light-blinking invention!
Lucy: Well, imagine me making a machine for world conquest…
Oh, Lucy, as apathetic and conceited as she is in Robot and Monster…
My first time drawing both characters from different shows, I've been wanting to make this since the duration of Season 3 of MLP FIM after watching a good amount of RnM episodes. As ridiculous as it is, Lucy really DOES remind me of Chrysalis in some ways, especially manipulation. I would like to thank for encouraging me to make such an unusual picture I was almost AFRAID to consider making. But I've felt pretty 'motivated' these past few weeks, and I'm on Spring Break now, so HAY YEAH!
For anyone who hasn't watched RnM on Nick before, Lucy is the main protagonist Robot Default's childhood enemy who has always considered herself highly, and has managed to beat him in every science fair, and in her debut episode "Ogo's Friends", she did it again. All while manipulating Ogo, who thought she was his friend, into providing her his parts to make such an invention for her victory.
I have to admit, while Lucy may not be a 'Chrysalis', she really is quite cold, manipulative, wicked, and above all sort of evil. Her brilliant mind followed by using such a guise to lure the 'weak-minded' to do her bidding without even knowing it…that's a cartoon villain right there.
Let's just say, she used 'friendship' against her victims.
And for Queen Chrysalis , while I absolutely hated the final S2 episodes, this villainess was BEYOND amazing…despite the rushed introduction of her, she really proved herself high on top of the 'villains category'. And she's actually quite scary when you look at her from a different perspective, and what her intentions of being 'Queen of her Swarm' are. Stealing love…that's actually quite dark and terrifying. As wrong as this sounds, I actually wanted to see if Chrysalis and her Changegling army had won, and leaving Season 2 end in a cliffhanger…that would have been a more interesting way to begin Season 3, and maybe the crystal ponies and King Sombra episodes would have gained more positivity in recognition.
I'm not making comparisons as to who is better here, Lucy's just being Lucy no matter who she's dealing with, even with someone from another show whose tiers above the concept of antagonists. To me, Lucy's quite even in position with that.
All I can say is if these two ever form an alliance…our world, and every cartoon show from the Hub to Nickelodeon, is DOOMED. Because the mixture of science and magic, it can be used for good…or evil.
