Head Canon — Fan Theory Time!

As far as I am aware, neither Lyra nor Bon Bon appeared in the Human World of Equestria Girls. So, the theory is that neither of them live there anymore.

Basically, it goes like this. Lyra and Bon Bon were using the statue as a make-out point during one of the previous times the portal was open, and fell through. It closed after they came, and so they were forced to try and make a normal life for themselves. They moved to Ponyville, because of the Lyra that already lived in Canterlot.

While Bon Bon has done her best to fit in as a normal pony over the years, Lyra doesn't adjust well. This is why we see her act 'human-like' a lot of times.

This is why Celestia /knows/ of a balance between the two worlds, as she has seen copies of her subjects come through it before,
