Yeah, I was looking at the other pics of her when she had ears in 3D and they do look off
I believe her ears look bad when rendered through her hair; they clip through the mane, so they left them out. You can see in chapter 1 sometimes she does have ears and they don't look great. In-universe, they're probably just under her hair.
