The first major interpreter of the Minor Arcana was a fella named Etteilla, who among others, took some other fella's interpretations of the astrological decans (the 36 ten degree sections of the natal horoscope), Picatrix, and sort of worked it all together. For the most part I will use the Golden Dawn's interpretations because they appear to be less contradictory (in the case of earlier readings) and less oddly specific (as with Waite). The Coins suit is all about material gain and loss, and hard work.
The Two of Coins is about juggling something, possibly financial, a possible embarrassment, something difficult, the ups and downs of life.
