Basically an excuse to re-try a different pen concept I did in art class back in high school. While digital programs are all well in good, traditional artwork created by ones hand's instead of keyboards shows the time and composition one took to create a piece of work.

I love my pens, and three of the best ink techniques I recall from high school: hatching, cross hatching, and stippling(dots).

Of course, it's not just a pen that can help you master such work. You could try with a pencil if you're new at this and draw over it with pen, you could use a regular pen that you sign with, or even markers. The choice is yours and ink technique is a matter of understanding where you think shadows work best.

Just recently I applied up for an internship with Disney Animation Studios and sort of linked my DA website to them. May have been a regretful move in some cases but it's better than sending them via packaging.

Wanting to show beyond just simple sketches, I decided to show that I'm capable of other styles of drawing, and can master with the ink pen(and future colored concept that I am currently working on).

When you think about what you want to sketch and try your luck in inking, you often choose the first thing that comes to mind. For me, it was Twilight Sparkle from Equestria Girls.

Let's realize, as My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic fans, that her hair flip is a vector very popular among most brony fanart. Wanting to try my hand at said picture, I couldn't help but imagine how my MU OC Laura Sharp could look doing a move…despite not having any human hair. cartuneslover16.deviantart.com A few have told me that Laura seems to act like a total Twilight at times, though her panic attacks are more severe than the stress induced on Twilight, a la 'Lesson Zero'.

It felt like high school art class all over again when I started doing the cross-hatching, my favorite of all the pen techniques. I do plan to create more fanart following this style and work on some poster-like material that'll hopefully gain more recognition.
