"We fell a pretty long way," Spike noted as he pulled himself out of the pool, "all thanks to that trigger happy diamond dog warlock." He laid back catching his breath, And did you catch that stuff about him harvesting dragons, do ya think hes behind the disappearance of the dragons?
Sharp had finally dragged himself and Spikes backpack out of the pool, also catching his breath, Well its not a coincidence that the green fire demon dogs that attacked us back at the cave were the same ones he created back there. Is it okay to say its lucky that the ground collapsed so we could escape? Sharp asked
"Lucky for him you mean," Magma said also pulling himself out of the pool. He laid back, chest rising and lowering with every heavy breath he took, I was about to show him a thing or two about messing with me and my quarry.
He moved to the edge of the cavern wall to lean against it and dry off. Spike and Sharp joined him on either side for the same reasons.
"You mean we were gonna show him a thing or two about messing with dragons," Spike corrected him, "Dude, you really need to get on page with the whole teamwork thing. You were pretty lucky that Sharp and I came along, I dont think you couldve handled him on your own.
"I could have!" Magma snapped back, "I didnt ask for your help," he then murmured under his breath.
"Dude, drop the lone dragon act, whore you trying to impress, huh?" Spike bluntly replied, You were getting your butt kicked, I helped out and together we survived. He gestured to them both to emphasize his point.
"And dont forget about me running decoy!" Sharp chimed in, "Without me that warlock puppy may have just kept summoning more demons and overwhelmed you guys!"
"Sharp, you were supposed to take him out!" Spike playfully teased, "By all accounts, I could blame you for this, youre the one running all over the place while that diamond dog took pot shots at you, cracking the floor which got us into this mess right now!"
"How was I supposed to know he could snap explosions?" Sharp responded accusingly playfully. Sharp, go take out that guy we know nothing about except that he can summon demons and who knows what else, Sharp imitated Spike playfully, What did ya think was going to happen, know it all?
"Certainly not this," Spike motioned to the cavern. He and Sharp then burst into laughter, relieving the tension from the room between the two and the new guy.
Magma couldnt help but chuckle along to the absurdity of the situation he had found himself, and gave a heavy sigh. You could say that again, he finally chimed in. Today was supposed to be just another day of rock breaking, yet I meet a strange dragon, re-meet a thief dragon, get attacked by a diamond dog warlock, have my quarry destroyed while plunging into the depths of the earth, and find out a story that dragons disappearing is not only true, but become evidence for it, counting off each event on his fingers. Magma sighed while shuffling a bit in place, Look guys, I can take a hint, things are bad and are probably gonna get worse, and I might not be able to survive it on my own.
Might?" the other two echoed.
"Okay, I definitely wouldnt survive on my own out there", Magma finally resigned, "and I you guys are actually trying to stop this?"
Spike and Sharp nodded, Sharps nod less confident that Spikes.
"You think I could join you guys?" Magma asked, I mean, no need to be dumb, strength in numbers, right?
"Totally," Spike agreed sticking his fist out for a confirmation bump, "were gonna need you to work on your teamwork though."
Magma bumped Spikes fist with his own, I can do that. Sharp put a hand on Magmas shoulder, and with that, Magma officially became a member of their group.
