As Spike headed to the last dragon to free, he came across a familiar face passed out against the shadowed cave wall. It was Garble. Spike shoved him to wake him up, and Garble looked stunned to see an old face he instantly recognized.
"You are the last dragon I ever expected to see here, pony boy." Garble said as Spike broke off his collar. "Looks like youre still full of surprises."
"Dont think Im doing this because I like you Garble," Spike accused, "Youre still a jerk and Im only doing this cause youre Mangles bro, and I owe him one."
"Well look whos grown up into a proper dragon," Garble said smugly, "Not the runt you used to be, eh?"
"Yeah Im older, so what," Spike said defiantly, "You still the jerk you were back then?"
"Youre not the only dragon whos grown a bit." Garble chuckled, Hows Mangle?
"See for yourself," Spike said pointing at Mangle who was double teaming a diamond dog with another dragon.
"Heh, would you look at that, he was never much of a fighter," Garble pondered, "always had stand up for him and look at him nowthanks Spike."
"For what?" Spike asked, but Mangle found the two during their conversation and ran over.
"Bro!" Mangle exclaimed.
"Hey Man, looks like you started the jailbreak without me," Garble said taking Mangle hand and stood up.
"Yeah, but we still need your help in finishing it!" Mangle exclaimed.
"Well whatre we waiting for, lets blow this joint!" Garble agreed, and the two of them ran back into the fray, where more diamond dogs had come in, in an attempt to re-secure the escapees. Spike couldnt help but grin, watching the two brothers re-united, he ran after them to help in the brawl.
It seemed all the dragons he rescued all remembered Spike from that one time several years ago. Along with Spike they had all gotten older as well, becoming taller, more muscular, and Spear had even grown some facial hair. The dragons worked together to fight off wave after wave of diamond dog guards. The older dragons in a way were giving pointers to the younger ones in some combat techniques. No better place to learn than on the field, it seemed.
