In ancient times the Grove consisted of druids, shamans and other practitioners of ritualistic proto-Magic, before the introduction of formalized systems of Magic by the Crystal Empire. Traditionally the High King will maintain the services of at least one Court Wizard, who act as an advisor and bulwark against the magical influences and scrying of enemy agents.
