Some of my new Origamis include several of the more famous backgound ponies. With different sets of eyes / expressions and manes & tails there are more possibilities to set them up to create little scenes / tell little stories.

Apparently Derpy had a rough landing while delivering the mail. Note the blue mailmare cap, the mail-saddlebags and the various letters, envelopes and scrolls scattered around her.
In fact two of the pages (lying close to Derpy's hindleg) are a complete letter from Twilight to Princess Celestia, typed in fontsize 2 and reading:

Dear Princess Celestia,

I hope that this letter reaches you in time. Rainbow Dash has repeatedly said that much as she likes Ditzy Hooves, or Derpy as everypony is calling her, she doesn't have much confidence in her ability to deliver the post in time, or to the intended recipient, or at all… maybe Rainbow used a somewhat more direct way to express her doubts than I would find proper to write in this letter.

However, for the time being I cannot rely on Spike to send my letters. My number one assistant feels obliged to serve Applejack in accordance with his dragon code. He feels that he owes a life of service to Applejack because Applejack saved him from some timberwoolves. From what Applejack told me, Spike seems to be much less help at the farm than he has always been as my assistant. The others and I in any case will do our very best to convince him that the obligation he feels he has to fulfill for Applejack is fulfilled. I do hope that I can tell you about the outcome of this in a letter sent in the manner that both you and I have grown so accustomed to.

Having to make do without his services, even for a short time, makes me realize just how much he means to me.

I like Derpy very much and given her expression and the content of above letter this could all be seen as a very sad scene for poor Derpy.
However, pesonally I would rather focus on another aspect of the image. Derpy may have fallen, but she is not alone. Dr. Whooves, perfect gentlecolt that I expect him to be, is already there to help her up and Lyra Heartstrings too is rushing to her aid with flying mane and tail. Friendship is magic and friends will help you up when you have fallen.
