He enlisted long ago with Ballista, before the princesses heart turned cold… However, since her skills in combat and leadership were so exceptional, she was made captain rather quickly; Gavel stayed where he is now. He may not be the most physically strong stallion, but is kind-hearted and remains optimistic, even under Rune's tyranny.
