I have to talk a bit about inspiration here. This piece was directly influenced by the beautiful work of Dutch photographer Desiree Dolron. She made this fantastic dark, almost surreal photo series Xteriors, which you can find on her homepage
I discovered it only a few days ago, and it immediately stood out to me. As for parallels in pony art, it has a similar feel to works by artists such as Ventious or pig-fish
The latter also provided inspiration for this piece, as I used some ideas from his style of facial anatomy
