Pre-Growth Spurt: One mid-fall weekend, Spike's indulgence of comics lead him to a graphic novel series, EverFear. Being targeted towards a more mature audience, every once in a while, a chapter got a bit too much for him to handle at night in the dark. Much like his bookworm companion, he tried candlelit reading to help calm his nerves.

As the nights hadn't grown quite cool enough yet to sleep under the covers however, the nightlight was a bit too bright for Twilight Sparkle, and would keep her up. So she gave him two options, either read without the light, or read downstairs.

Needing to know what happened next, Spike couldn't possibly put it down, but wouldn't even dare read alone without somepony else nearby. He killed the fire and tried to continue reading, but not much further into the story, found himself leaping out of his basket, and hastily grasping to Twilight's leg, waking her once again.

Fed up with his antics, she flipped open the book and began reading, herself to find out what all the fuss was about. It couldn't be THAT bad. She was wrong. She soon found herself shuddering a bit, too afraid to keep reading herself, but nevertheless enticed! Spike urged her,-

S: No, no, keep going! You haven't even gotten to the best part yet!

T:…I-..I can't..

S: 'Course you can, if I can handle it, you've gotta be able to!

She flips to the next page, and reflexively throws it in his face-

T: TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS!

Spike flips it back open and begins narrating, even going as far as to do his own interpretation of the voices when he can.

Eventually coming upon a female character's dialogue, he finds himself unable to satisfyingly imitate a good feminine voice, which compels Twilight to take on the role.

By the end of the volume, they had read themselves into the next morning. Well of course, they couldn't just stop there! They agreed that after some sleep, they'd go grab the next few from the comic shop. They had found a new mutual interest.

As the days and stories went on, and the nights grew colder, the two had began reading under the covers, nuzzled together.. y-Y'KNOW, just so they wouldn't have to be too scared or anything!!

Nodding off on eachother every night, mid-read.. J-just reading together!! That's all!!

And that's how Spike and Twilight first began "sleeping together" :3.

Yep, I'm back with a bit more of my universe's TwiSpike and Friends (with Benefits) shenanigans.

Something a bit more SFW and lighthearted this time :3.
