Based on MustLoveFrogs's interpretation of Babs Seed. In her version, Babs is a big bad brawny middle-schooler who gets dumped on the Apples every few months or so. She's been the terror of Ponyville foals ever since, particularly her little cousin Apple Bloom and the Crusaders. Even Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon aren't safe from her wrath.The one pony she won't lay a finger on is Twist, because even evil has standards. Still, Babs does manage to be a surprisingly sympathetic character. For all her cruelty, she's absolutely miserable. Her home life is a wreck, she hates being in a hick-town like Ponyville, and possibly has bipolar depression. You want to hate her and hug her at at once.

At the moment it's more the former.
