Del: I'll get it *heads to front door and opens it* Oh, Angel. What're you doing here? Did you come alone?

Angel: *nods* Can you come over please? Something's wrong with, Momma.

Del: What happened? Is she okay? Is she hurt?

Angel: I don't know. When I got home from school, Uncle Lucky wasn't there and neither was Uncle Hot Head to watch me like they usually do. I just heard mommy crying in her room. She's usually at work now so I don't know if something happened.

Crme: Oh no. That sounds awful. Come on, Del, we should go check on her.

Del: Ah'm not sure… Usually when she gets in these moods she just shuts everyone out. Maybe she just needs some time

Angel: Please Uncle Del. She hasn't come out for hours and she won't let me go in her room and I keep hearing her throw up.

Del: What….?

Crme: Del…..

Del: Alright. Ah'll go. You two just hang tight.

Crme: No ways. Del, I'm coming too.

Angel: Yeah!

Del: *quietly to Crme* You need to rest sweetheart. Ah don't want you walking all the way over to her house. And Angel shouldn't have to see her mother like this.

Crme: Amber's my friend too. I want to make sure she's okay. And Angel should be there as well. Once you talk to Amber, I'm sure Angel could calm her down more. You know how close they are.

Del: *knocks on Amber's bedroom door*

Amber: Not now, Angel. I already told you I can't play. Please leave me alone for a bit

Del: I'm sure you did everything you could.

Amber: But it shouldn't have happened at all! I failed, Del! Again!

Del: Again? Amber, you've never lost a patient before this.

Amber: ………….. it felt just like when I lost her all those years ago.

Del: ………… *realizes what she's referring to* You're mother's passing was not your fault. You were a child…..

Amber: A stupid child who thought that she knew what she was doing when trying to save her mom. I became a doctor so that I would know what I'm doing. But today……… everything I tried just wasn't working and….. I didn't know what to do.

Del: ….

Amber: Nothing's changed

Del: You did what you could. I know it doesn't mean much but

Amber: No Del, it doesn't. Because I thought I knew what I was doing, a little baby girl is going to have to go through what I went through and live her life as an orphan. I failed her, I failed my patient, I failed my mother, I……… I failed myself. *begins shaking and crying*

Del: *pulls Amber into a hug* You can't blame yourself for this. Ah know it's hard not to but you can't let this eat at you. It's unhealthy.

Amber: How can I not?

Del: Don't try to drink away the pain for one. Don't keep everything to yourself. And if you need to talk it out, then talk to us. Or Hot Head or Lucky. We're all here for you

Del: If you won't do it for you, do it for Angel. She needs you and seeing you like this all the time could really hurt her. You understand?

Amber: ………….. *nods*

Del: Good. Everything's gonna be fine, okay? Things like this happen. Your patient is in a better place, the baby is alive and healthy and will find a good home.

Amber: *nods*

Del: Your mom would be very proud of you, y'know. You've come a very long way despite what you think.

Amber: *smiles weakly*


Crme: Wow, that's heavy. But everything's okay now?

Del: Hopefully. I'm thinking Angel is enough motivation for Amber to keep her head up.

Crme: I think so too. She's so sweet, that girl! Look what she gave me *pulls out a strawberry stuffed toy* She told me to give this to the baby when it's born.

Del: Ha, that's pretty cute.

Crme: Oh! Del! What is it that you call those strawberries that you use for cooking?

Del: Fraises?

Crme: Oh yes! Don't you think that'd be a wonderful name?

Del: Fraise? Fraise. Fraise! Huh, Ah like thata lot!

Moar of the sadness. I tried to weave in a bit of cuteness in the beginning and end.

This is a universe where Amber just ends up as a single parent with Angel, And a universe where Del ends up with Crme obviously XD
