I don't know when exactly, but I pretty much thought up Thistle Chaser and Durango about roughly the same time. I don't have a fully thought out bio for him yet, but that is a work in progress.
He is an offspring pony. But not the usual kind. He's the bastard son of Caballeron. (May not be the first time he's sewn wild oats.) The mother is not a show character so her identity does not matter unless I can think of a reason why it should be. (I might one day draw her for the heck of it.)
But anyway, he was born and raised in the Southern Hemisphere. Roughly in a location similar to that of Central America. Wherever that might be on an Equestrian map. His life is quiet and content, but one day he decides he wants to go out and see the world. And so he does! From then on his adventures are numerous.
What his home most probably looks like, below:

(damn comfy.)
Personality wise, Durango is actually a nice pony. Fairly friendly if not a bit quiet. But strangers tend to give him a lot of space because his eyes look shifty and fierce. That is an unfortunate trait he inherited from his dad. Not much he can do about that. Sometimes it actually works in his favor, and sometimes it doesn't.
His cutie mark is a placeholder for now. Until I can come up with something that will fit his developing talent. But the mark I gave him is the Mayan symbol for night.
