Melanne Koelia has tuberculosis. Here she's treating it by inducing pneumothorax. First she made a cut with a scalpel, between the fifth and sixth rib, then she used something very similar to a bicycle pump to pump approximately 500 c.c of nitrogen gas into the pleural cavity. This induces pneumothorax, collapsing her left lung, thus allowing it to rest and cause healing of the scarred tissue.

Pneumothorax was a real treatment for tuberculosis. It was phased out in 1950s in favor of antibiotics. http://www.cmaj.ca/content/182/2/179.full http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1487145/

Lonely Inky style emulation I hope I can draw with a sharper line. Edgy enough to make eyes bleed melancholic tears, just like what Lonely Inky can do to me.
