It is assumed by many that Derpy and the Doctor are time travelers, due to his centuries of research into time travel (Starswirl beat him to the punch though, so he ended up wasting a lot of time) and the fact that they appear together in the weirdest places and times. They haven't corrected these assumptions because until about ten seconds ago they never really noticed anything unusual about it, though on more than one occasion Derpy has been miffed when rather than accepting her money for muffins her coins end up in museums. This has led to many exciting adventures to retrieve her bits from guarded exhibits and private collections.
