So, before I get assaulted with threats and stupid shit let me explain why I think this way.
I am a great fan of MLP, even before G4 came to be, so I've been in this brand-wagon longer than most. I am not here to invoke any form intolerance, but just to get my opinion accepted, as the newest fan addition say; "love and tolerate". I used to identify as a brony, but in my current state I am not, I am a fan and I dare to speak my mind which most of the time it seems like the bronies I meet do not(I can go on and on about the disgusting sexism and things that made me not want to identify as one anymore but let's keep on topic).
So why do I dislike EQG so much?
I can rant on and on about how horrible it is, but to make you understand I'll make it simple.
1. Humans; Humans mean races and races means the chance of racism will occur, sure they are all pony-colored but it still doesn't justify that they all share the exact same toothpick-thin body. No girl is ever different, which makes the general message of MLP hypocritical. Whereas the ponies could be modeled in a similar matter, humans cannot — there's simply too much diversity to excuse it on a budget cut.
2. Design of Main 6; All boys wear pants and EVERY SINGLE GIRL WEARS SKIRTS, how is that that an accurate display of females? I am sure Rainbow Dash would prefer pants over a skirt and that most females IRL wear pants.
3. Girls; Now that they are all humanoid beings, they seem to have lost what truly makes the characters what they are. It's like playing a song slightly off-key — disturbing but you can identify parts of it. All girls have a worry of sorts about how they look, if they can fit in — which again is contradicting the message of the show.
4. The Plot; It's tacky and very undeveloped and by no means give any justice to Twilight as a character or anyone else for that matter to develop and connect with the audience 100%. Sunset Shimmer is even less exciting with her awful personality and stereotypical villain "bitch"-attitude than King Sombre that only growls about gems for a few minutes before getting defeated in S2 EP2.
5. Love Interests; It was never needed to add a love interest in there, for a character as Twilight the last thing she needs is a male to put her in place. She is strong and independent, so the way she becomes shy around the male character doesn't make any sense. It would've made more sense to have her befriend him and from there gain interest, if it was ever needed. But as it is set up in the film, she bumps into a Nice Guy a few times and then suddenly she is in love? I'm sorry but relationships take time and random encounters rarely work out and it's just such a common card to play in the film world it has become a pest.
With that said, I am now done with my ranting and I expect to have my opinion tolerated.
