Scootaloo was beaten so badly that she got amnesia, but she sometimes gets flashbacks of her life from before she had amnesia. also, Gilda's there because she became good friends with Scootaloo and taught her how to fly so that rainbowdash would stop hating her. it didn't work because even after Scootaloo learned how to fly Rainbow dash still hated scootaloo, but Gilda was her friend ever since.
