Rarity rounded a corner, quickly looking left and right to make sure she wasn't being followed or scene. The coast was clear. After affirming that in her mind, she took a peek at her targets. Her dear, sweet husband, Fancy pants leaning against the wall of the clothes store. He and Crescent Moonstone, their adopted daughter, had walked in there a few minutes before. It took Rares a while to find a way in without being spotted by either pony. She was supposed to be home, awaiting news on how they daddy and daughter day had went but her nerves couldn't handle the suspense. She had to follow them.

By the time she got in, Fancy had apparently chosen a dress for Crescent and she was now trying it on. Rarity was curious as to what Fancy had chosen though she was unsure what Crescent would do. She hadn't shown any interest in fashion, though she could deduce the price of all of her dresses on sight. The filly had a discerning eye for value but didn't seem too interested in fashion personally. She hoped that Crescent wouldn't break her dear Fancy's heart.

Speaking of.

Rarity sighed lovingly at the sight of him. He was looking especially handsome in his casual outfit though she wished he'd let her chose his wardrobe today. He look good in anything but he really should look his best. Then again, if he looked too handsome some Canterlot floozy might get it into her mind to try and steal her man away. Her fist clenched at the thought. While she might be a lady, she was also a mare and if any bitch tried to touch her man, she would be very lady-like and tear a bitches mane out-

"You should be more careful, Rarity." A voice commented from behind her. "You're face is showing your true thoughts." Rarity nearly screamed from shock, though she managed to muffle her cry by covering her mouth. She looked back to see Fleur, standing behind her. She looked past Rarity, focusing instead on Fancy.

"O-oh, Fleur, it's you. You are… surprisingly quite for a mare into wearing heels." She commented, her smile a bit nervous. She still didn't… get Fleur. The way she acted before Fancy had married Rarity and after were miles apart. She was harder to read than Maud and she didn't even show emotions the way Fleur did!

"And you are surprisingly vindictive for a mare who claims to be a lady. It's quite impressive." She retorted, giving Rarity a smile. The mare returned the smile, unsure if the statement was a complement. Fleur's tone and words were at odds with each other. Fleur's eyes shined, alerting Rarity that the show was still going.

Crescent had stomped out of the fitting room, scowling. She wore a adorable green dress that flowed and fell gracefully on her hips. Fancy smiled lovingly, missing the sighs of happiness from both Rarity and Fleur.

"You look Lovely, Crescent." He said, looking at her from the mirror. Crescent had yet to look up. "Do you like it?" Crescents scowl deepened.

"I don't like it!" She insisted, though she still didn't look up. "It's expensive and pretty and it would look better on a prettier filly." She stated, glaring at the floor. Perhaps unconsciously, her hand went to her throat, where the scar she refused to talk about lay, the flesh raised from not being taken care of right. Rarity longed to run over, to assure Crescent that she was pretty. That anypony can be beautiful regardless of scars but Fleur held her back. This was not her day.

"Crescent, do you trust me?" Fancy asked suddenly, shocking all three females in the room. Crescent frowned at him.

"…I guess so?" She replied, unsure where this was going. "You seem nice enough, I guess." Fancy smiled at that, stroking her head softly.

"Then trust me when I say that you look adorable in that dress." He stated, turning her head toward the mirror. For the first time, Crescent saw herself in the mirror. She turned around, marveling that it was, in fact, her reflected on that glass.

"I-is that… really me?" She asked, turning this way and that, liking the way the dress followed her movements. She jumped and the dress ballooned beneath her "Eep!" She squeaked, not noticing the smile that was spreading on her face. She swirled around, loving the sight of the pretty blonde dancing by herself. Fancy said nothing, watching his daughter have fun on her own. Some distance away, Rarity smiled at the sight while Fleur stared on, content with the outcome.



Crescent as a foal trying on a dress for the first time. She's never had anything nice to wear so she is losing her mind at getting to wear such a nice dress. Fancy adored making his baby girl happy, since she had been so insistent that she didn't want a dress before.

This is supposed to be a Fancy and Crescent day in which they bond but Rarity followed them, worried Crescent would be too awkward for anything fun to happen. She's happy to see she was wrong and that her hubby and her new daughter are getting along. Fleur is here because she wanted to see if Fancy was getting along with Crescent. Fleur was ready to go full on protective baby sis mode if Crescent kept acting bratty toward her amazingly awesome brother.

Note: Fleur is a weird mare in my verse. She is a bit of a brocon (opposite of a siscon), in that she adores her big brother a lot more than most sisters. She is super protective of him since he sacrificed a lot to take care of her when they were foals as such, she a Rarity are on shaky ground. She doesn't dislike Rarity but she is very on guard of her. She's like the over protective mother-in-law who looms over the newlyweds like a hawk.
