Quick thing before I go to sleep! I realized I have a lot of sketches that I never finish. Mostly it's because I don't want to do line art (probably my least favorite part about drawing), but other times because I simply like it better as a sketch :3 Decided to color a few of them! Some of them have actual lines, others are sketches, so they might look a lil messy!

Some notes below:



1. (referring to Glowstik as male to make things clearer). Playing around with Glowstik's design and body figure. I think I like him better when drawn skinnier, just to emphasize his past/childhood and the effects it had on his health. I'm kinda sticking with the idea that he's the kid of Trixie and an unknown batpony (unknown for now, at least). I think his name would be Lightshow, but Glowstik would be more of a stage name. He'd probably travel around with his momma Trixie helping her with her magic stunts.

While I do like how he looks here, I think a slimmer appearance fits more to his overall backstory.



2. Kid Glowstik! He's not a teen just yet, but Trixie probably put him in a private school away from all the Mane 6 kids… for her own reasons. While he isn't necessarily bullied for his appearance, he definitely gets a lot of stares. Ponies aren't used to seeing batponies, who claim their own section of Equestria and mostly stick to themselves.

He hates his school uniform and has a yearly ritual of tearing it apart once the school year ends. Trixie often takes pictures and has a good laugh over it, but she doesn't really see the bigger picture. He hates school. Sure, every kid hates school, but he despises it. School was supposed to be his safe place, since home never did a great job of that- and school failed him, just like home did.



3. I kinda never draw the Mane 6, so here's Pinkie! Well, Pinkamena, Bad Pinkie? Not really sure what her name is when her hair goes straight. In my headcanon, Pinkie's sudden, random depression correlates to her childhood. She put on a smile when she ran away to Ponyville, and eventually, pretending to be happy did make her happy. But even the slightest inconvenience is well enough to trigger her horrible memories of home. She doesn't think about them much, but exclusion, secrets, lying… they all hit her hard. Really, really hard.

She suffers from depression, but it's since gotten much better and rarely affects her. When it does, her cases are so extreme that she goes beyond depression into an area called the Grey Zone. The Grey Zone is basically when ponies have hit their lowest point, and their internal magic starts to fade away once they start giving up on themselves. Without the magic, their bodies start to fade in color, hence the name. There was a mass outbreak of Grey Zone when Discord returned to Equestria after years of banishment.


She looks much like her sister Marble when in this state… which may say a lot about her sister.




4. Enough of that sad stuff! Even though Pinkie had to fake it for a while, she is happy at heart. Very, very happy! Her grey zone Pinkamena outbreaks are rare. For the most part, she's very healthy. However, she does have an "enhanced" Party Mode… which is pretty much the exact opposite of her grey zone. She gets a little too crazy, a little too hyper, and a little too wild. Thankfully, it's not really that harmful, to her or her surroundings. Her hair does poof out though, almost like an afro!




5. Anthro Spitfire wearing her one of a kind Wonderbolts hoodie and sweatpants. Only Wonderbolts members have the official jackets with their own cutie marks. There are definitely hundreds of knock-offs out there, but Spitfire's got the best of the best. She tends to wear the outfit a lot at home around Fluttershy since it's so unbelievably comfy (as hoodies are). And Fluttershy definitely doesn't mind! It's big and goofy, making Spitfire all the more huggable. Spitfire does have to wear it for the annual Wonderbolts pictures, and even though they get new jackets every year, everyone is still surprised at how worn out Spitfire's are.

Flutters (her wife) probably convinced her to wear eyeliner and sunglasses in her next Bolts picture! Spitfire considered the idea, went with it, and definitely wasn't expecting it to be a yearly picture tradition. Lo and behold, she now wears sunglasses and eyeliner every year for the pictures.

That's all I got for now! Might disappear for a bit since my birthday's coming up (: I'm having family over and won't have too much time to draw, probably, but I'll still try to come on and chat!
