A gift from ArtistaMelody, she has created a Gazelle just for me!

Her name is Salma, which translates from the language of Swahili for Peace.

She is quite bashfull, but very high spirited and optimistic!
She enjoys grazing on the succulent grasses and wild apricot that grows throughout the lands. She also like to spend time with her friends pronking around with Mmiri and Nuk.
Though that sort of turns into a giggle fest when Nuk falls down from attempting to pronk around with them herself. (Gerenuks can actually Pronk, Nuk just needs to get the hang of it).

She may seem short and a bit stout, but she can sprint SUPER fast, especially when she is being pursued by a predator. But she always outruns them, for she has more stamina then any of them combined. Even the fastest Cheetah can only run for so long until it gets tired.

She has a interesting feature to her, a tuft of hair on the top of her head. She calls it her Nywele, which in English means her hair.
Normally all Antelopes fur would be flat and even length on the forehead, but for Salma, it's unusually long. It gives her sort of a distinction when standing in a group of her own kind. This makes it easy for her friends to spot her for when they want to spend time with her.

She particularly does not like fighting of any sort and gets rather upset when her friends start arguing with one another. She believes that peace can be found in any situation and tries to enforce it into any quarrel that might happen. Calming every-lope down and talking things over with all of them. She is really like a voice of reason to the group!

If you would like to know more about Thomson's Gazelles, I put some facts down over here.

This small Gazelle is graceful and speedy. It "stotts" (pronks) energetically when threatened by, for example, many of the big cats, Hyenas, Jackals, and similar carnivores, for which it is a staple part of their diet.
The most common Gazelle in its region, it sometimes forms mixed herds with Impala and other Gazelle species.
It mainly grazes on short grasses, yet also browses. Small herds of 10-30 females and young join male bachelor bands, and even lone males, to migrate between grasslands (in the rainy season) and bush (when its drier). The Thomson's Gazelle usually produces a single offspring, which is born after 160-180 days of gestation.
Although initially mottled darker than the parent, the coat of the young Gazelle lightens in 1-2 weeks.

A black flank band separates the sandy fawn back from the white underside. The reddish head has a darker blaze, and the white eye-rings that extend along the muzzle, above the black cheek stripes.
Both males and females have horns, but the Male horns are prominently larger than that of the females.
