Treehugger departed from Ponyville and the surrounding areas on a journey of discovery after the Gala, she decided to wander through Equestria and let the spirits guide her. In part because she had lost the map home, but she genuinely decided to continue journeying. Eventually she found a large aura of unradical vibes hanging inside a cave, vibes that were harshing the entire cave's mellow. So she collected some fireflies and let the vibes guide her far into the cave. It took a week, but she eventually came across the source of the vibes; Starlight Glimmer. She rescued her, oblivious to Starlight's disdain, as always. She traded stories with Starlight for the week of travel, and they came to some understandings and differences. Treehugger realized how unhappy that Starlight was about her supposed equality, and decided that she needed to see things her way. Since Starlight had nowhere to go, she accepted. The others at the commune were suspicious of Starlight when Rarity's visit to Wheatgrass and Flax Seed caused a bit of a ruckus, and when Fluttershy showed up for her visit, the suspicions were solidified. But Treehugger convinced her fellow hippies to give peace a chance, to let Starlight see the true equality of their commune. Treehugger and Starlight are not married, as the commune promotes free love, but they are monogamous and have had eight children, taking turns bearing the child.
