This is rather odd posting for my Equestria dreamscape. It is very meta and is connected with the series finale. Although it is not directly connected to events that happened in the episodes.

I saw the series finale Sunday morning before heading over to Caerdwyn's place for the stream. I knew that it would be a emotional rollercoaster and that the staff at DHX would pull out all the stops. I am not ashamed to admit that I shed more than one tear. Especially during that last damn song. However soon after we had to pack and head off to start getting ready for the Picarto stream.

I had a wonderful evening and the stream went very well. As usual I enjoyed chatting with folks during the stream, and after a fine dinner myself and Catspaw made our way home. All day there had been a knot in my stomach after watching the finale. I chalked it up to being the end of the series and the fact that the Roan: World at War Kickstarter was ending tomorrow, and I've been tracking its progress from day one because I'm part of the staff.

So after getting home. Giving my wife a hug and telling her how the stream went I proceeded to brush my teeth and head off to bed. I laid down found I didn't want to go to sleep. So stayed up and read for a little while. I figured I was still worked up from all of the events of the day. However about 30 minutes later I realized I really needed to get to sleep, but as I turned off the lights I finally realized what exactly I was experiencing. Dread and uncertainty.

So I did some breathing exercises and after about half an hour I finally fell asleep. Opening my dream eyes I found myself in what I refer to as the Staging Area of my dreamscapes. It's a place I will often appear in first before heading off to a specific dreamscape. The only character I've ever meet there is Petina who's one of my muses. Often she's there to ask me which dreamscape I am going to and if necessary to remind me of what was going there the last time I visited.

She was standing there in the white unicorn mare form she's had since she first made into my Equestria dreamscape in 2011. She trotted over and gave me a nuzzling.

"You're late." she said. Petina is the only character of mine that is aware that she's product of my subconscious. She's also the only character of mine who sees what I refer to as the Raw Feed.

She is knows that there's a world beyond the one she gets to run around in and is aware of the comments people make about her. Other characters of mine will comment about things I hear, see, or read about, but that information has always been processed to appear appropriate for the world they exist in. With Petina it's straight from the tap.

With immediate greetings out of the way the mare stepped back and looked at me quizzically.

"Are you ready to go?"

For some reason. I found it hard to make eye contact with her. Noticing this she took a step toward me.

"You okay dear?" She asked with a hint of concern in her voice.

I closed my eyes and lowered my head. "What if its gone?" I asked.

There was silence for a moment. I heard her scuff a hoof several times before speaking. "You're scared that because the show has ended your dreamscape is somehow going end as well? Is that it?"

I opened my eyes and nodded my head. "I, I, know it sounds silly but for some reason I can't get that thought out of my head."

Petina came over and sat down on her haunches. She then gestured me to join her. For several seconds she just stared at me. Finally in a soft voice she spoke.

"Are you concerned that it will somehow fade away like a mirage unless you continue to get new material from outside yourself?"

I nodded my head. "I guess that's what I'm afraid of that I am going to reach for it and it will be gone. I know its silly but I'm afraid it's no longer there waiting for me."

Petina hugged me. "It's not gone unless you wanted it to be gone. Remember you yourself have said that things like this only dies if you let them die. So why don't we go now. Carousel will be wanting breakfast and you have weather work today. Besides your fans would be very sad if you suddenly stopped having dreams there."

I looked at her and she leaned forward and gave a little kiss on the lips. Suddenly we were lying in the bed at our cottage outside of Ponyville. Behind me I could hear Carousel stirring in the bed as well. A few seconds later the alarm clock on the nightstand began clanking away. Petina reached out with her horn and turned off the noisy device. Then one by one we began rolling out of bed and started our day. Soon I had breakfast was served and Carousel and I were collecting our gear and heading off to work while Petina stood at the front door and wished us a good day.

The morning air was cool as flew to work. A few minutes later I was turning into the window and touching down in front of the Ponyville office for the Royal Equestria Weather Service. Trotting in the front door I could hear Rainbow Dash's raspy voice coming from the back briefing room. I wasn't too worry about missing the beginning of the daily briefing because I had helped her prepare it the day before. Still she gave me the stink eye I as stepped in the room.

"Brick you're late!" She growled. I looked around the room at my coworkers and smiled.

"Well you should've taken Petina's offer and spent the night at our place. That way you could've kicked me out of the bed when you got up."

There was various giggles from the other weather ponies assembled for the briefing. RD squinted at me and ruffled her feathers. "Well Brick! Since you decided to come moseying in late, and since you're full-time assistant coordinator now you can start on the quarterly inventory review. Cloudsdale will want it there by the end of the week so I want you get on it right away!"

I sighed. "Oh come RD. I can work on it after the morning patrol? We've got that that cluster of swelling cumulus moving in that are going to need shepherding. I'll start on it after that."
The light cerulean blue mare shook her head causing her prismatic mane to sway from side-to-side.

"Nope get on it right now!"

I made an overly dramatic sigh and sauntered off for my office. There waiting for me was the imposing pile of paperwork I had to do, but as I picked up the pencil with my lips and begun confronting the first piece of paper I couldn't help but smile.

I was still a pony. I still had this place I called home, and this story wasn't over.

To be continued.
