Yo, I'm trying my hand at drawing anthro… I'm shit at it though. :(

North walks through the hall, going through his phone to check the princess's schedule. She should be awake by now. Upon reaching her door, he saw the day guard switching out with the night guard. As they walked by, North bowed his head, showing respect to the older guards. They returned the gesture, yawning as they walked past. North stopped at the door.
"Is the princess awake?" He asked, pocketing his phone. "Breakfast should be starting soon." One day guard shook his head.
"Nope, she still knocked out." He said, leaning against the wall. "According to the night guards, she refused to get up unless they got her coffee."
"Did they?"
"They did but apparently she just kept repeating that she wanted coffee over and over." The other sighed. "I don't understand what she could mean but-"
Was the coffee black?" He interrupted, cocking a hip though being careful not to spill the Styrofoam cup in his hand.
Um, yes, I think so." the first guard replied, frowning. "Her majesty, Princess Luna prefers black coffee so I would assume her highness would as well." North smiles patting the guard on the shoulder gently as he walked into the room.
"You would think so, wouldn't you." He mutter just before shutting the door. The room was a sea of pinks and blues and yellows. Looking around, you wouldn't think a princess of the night as well as a well known blacksmith was living here. Well, you would raise a brow at all the sharpened blades and weapons strewn across the room but seeing the dark blue ball curled in in his sky blue blanket would make anypony confused.
"Princess, it's time to wake up!" He called out, walking over. Years of practice kept him from stabbing himself on one of her daggers as he got closer. Desert Moon grumbled, snapping her teeth at him when he shook her. "Prinnncessss?"
"Go away, North!" She groaned, swatting her tail at him. He caught it and rested it back on the bed.
"Princess, you need to wake up. Her majesty has invited you to breakfast." He said, helping her upright. Orange eyes were revealed as Desert tried to blink the sleep from her eyes. She grumbled nonsensically, muttering about sweetness. North Chuckled. "Yes, princess, I have your coffee."
"Coffee?" She clumsily reached out to North, trying to blindly grab her coffee. "Not black?"
"Nope. French Vanilla latte with 3 sugars and two creams, just as like it." He reported, beaming at the sleepy kitten. "But first open your eyes, Princess."
"My eyes are open…" She grumbled, not noticing herself drifting back to sleep. She fell forward, landing on her super soft bed, sleep racing back. North just sighed.

Desert Moon is not a morning pony. She is almost impossible to wake up in the morning. The only one who can wake her up in a timely manner is her bodyguard/friend, North Wind.
My original plan for this pic was his: North and Desert in bed together and him waking her up with a chin rub. Why didn't I do this? Cause I thought it'd seem more romantic than their relationship actually is. I mean, he would do that, since their relationship is a lot more casual than normal but they are mostly just super close friends. Heck, they used to sleep in the same bed together as foals but stopped when Deserts Dad found them together and tried to kill North. Since Desert didn't want him dead, she put him in the room next door to hers.
As for Dessy, she a lot more girly that he looks would imply. She's the type to have dozens of teddy bears, dresses and bright colors despite how dour she comes off as. She loves sweet things and can't drink black coffee though she loves the stuff.
Note: her shirt is based on a shirt I found at Marshalls. It read: "If I had coffee, I would be ruling the world" or something like that. I just thought it'd be cute and fit her taste.
