This is another drawing for our pen and paper RPG which I did a long time ago (back in fall / autumn 2016) and it was the first image of our pen and paper RPG which I vectorized. There are may aspects of it which I would probably draw differently today from the way I did back then, but I decided against a "total makeover" of the image and show it as it was originally made. Many proportions seem off here, the unicorn seems kind of fat, the neck somehow seems to manage to be too thick and too long at the same time and the horn has an unusually high number of twists of its groove. But it is such mistakes that one can learn from The name of this character, "Shut Eye" was made up only long after we first encountered her. The encounter with her gave a rather dark twist to our adventure which could have been avoided with a luckier dice roll. Shut Eye is a member of the shady organization our characters' dubbed "Shutties". Up to the moment when we encountered her in a tower ruin in Everfree Forest our awareness of that organization or what to make of them had been rather vague at best. Unintentionally however we had temporarilly been in posession of something that this organization wanted back and they went rather far in their means to force us into returning said item (which we couldn't return at all, since we had given it away already). It has always been our aim too keep the RPG light enough so it could be canon of the series, but during our encounter with Shut Eye a Filly named Green Cider was gravely injured (and finding remedies for her injuries became an unplanned but very integral part of future adventures of our group). The unicorn "Shut Eye" used to be an exhibition shooter at a circus before she joined that group of antagonists (yes, the encounter with her did involve a crossbow, but that crossbow didn't injure anypony then). We would meet her again later on, but also found that her decision to leave the Shutties after the encounter with us was not simply accepted by their leader. I am curious about how her story will continue in the future as it is one of the more dramatic parts of our rpg.
This is a rather light version of the image while I also created one with a darker light that fits better to the probable lighting during the nightly encounter in that tower ruin in Everfree. Here is the darker light version.
