Snow Swirl or The guard of frozen North was born in canterlot a long time ago. his parents Moniea Snow (his mother) and Clock Swirl (his father) was two great ponies though they died/disappeared. therefore Snow Swirl was brought up by his uncle Lock Smith.

as Snow Swirl grew older he often was strongly draw to all about the windigos and their Snow magic driven by Ponies misery. Snow Swirls got in to the Celestia magic school and many teachers was impressed but Snow Swirls knowing of the Windigos so one afternoon his uncle Lock Smith got visited by the moon princess Luna. Whom asked the uncle to let her take Snow Swirl to canterlot castle for further studies of the windigos.
the uncle agreed to her request. The princess brought snow Swirl to canterlot Castle. at the ports princess Celestia waiting.

some years later Snow Swirl was sent to the Crystal empire for work and at that time he was still a colt. he past his time with reading and learning about the Crystal Empire. but he still felt that the Frozen North was calling for him. so one cold night he decided to to to the frozen Northern borders.

His body wrapped in a jacket and scarf. he looked at the big gate before him. where on the gates opened and a wind swept toward him. he heard a voice in the wind calling him.

The rest is history. no one knows what happen after that.
