Ember's mother was an official adviser to former Dragon Lord Torch and now to her daughter — for good reason, too. She is patient, smart, experienced and both Ember and Torch know they can safely confide in her.
The bracelet she is wearing is made out of titanium and silver and it was made to match Torch's horn ring in design, since they're a couple. It's silver instead of the traditional gold because it's the color she prefers to wear. It says nothing about the power dynamic between them. Although technically Torch could have given her orders when he was Lord, his code of honor and respect for his partner prevented him from using his status to settle marital disputes.
Ember is a minor, so her parents don't have to obey her… yet.
