- Darting Fly is the first born and only son of Bulk Biceps and Fluttershy. He is a kind pony, but no where near as shy as his mother. He is actually a very positive pony, he always keeps a good outlook on life and was always ready for adventure; Trying to drag his mother along on voyages and such. Fluttershy would never let him stray too far though.

- Growing up, Dart became enchanted by bugs; specifically the ones that flew. Dragonflies, butterflies, moths and beetles. He loved watching them dart back and forth and flutter around.. His particular favorite was the dragonfly, his namesake creature. He began copying its movements, and studying it's habits, and he quickly came to realize that he wanted to protect these innocent creatures. He vowed to make a sanctuary, like the one his mother made, but for dragonflies and other insects.. Especially the rarer ones, or the ones that needed help. When that day came, he earned his cutie mark.

- Despite living in Ponyville, Dart asked to sign up for Flight School. Although worried about him, and having flashbacks of her own time there, Fluttershy agreed to let him go. The first day of Flight School was the day he met Aura Shine and her brother Jet Streak. The three of them quickly became close friends, but Aura Shine specifically caught his attention. As they got older and grew together, Dart fell in love with Aura, and she with him. Which unfortunetly lead to them hanging out more, and less with Jet. Jet and Dart are still good friends, but not the way they were as colts.

- When Dart's little sister, Snowflake, was born, he was very excited to have a little sibling. He was determined to be a good brother, and be there to protect her. He brought her along with him whenever he went to Cloudsdale to visit Aura Shine and Jet, leading to his sister making friends with their own little sister; Rainboom.

- When Dart isn't tending to his santuary, he is helping his father in personal training sessions. He may not look as physically buff as his father, but he has a scary amount of strength that he does not care to flaunt around.
