Luna trata de usar el poder de nightmare moon para acabar con el Rey Sombra sin embargo él manipulo a la princesa Celestia usando cristales de oscuridad para controlarla, así es como usa a su hermana la princesa Celestia para contraatacar, la princesa Luna al no poder atacar a su hermana por temor a herirla, empieza a recibir el daño que Celestia le causaba, no obstante el poder de nightmare moon que yacía en el interior de Luna no estaba muy conforme con esto que digamos, así que en un instante la princesa Luna cuando sus emociones se ven afectadas y llevadas al limite por la frustración de no poder hacer nada, pierde el control sobre los poderes de nightmare moon y estalla su furia, el poder de nightmare moon se ve afectado por aquellos sentimientos revelando una misteriosa forma mucho más siniestra y poderosa convirtiéndose en Blood Moon empezando una feroz batalla, mientras tanto el Rey Sombra obsesionado con su victorioso plan contemplaba el escenario desde su trono.
